Rex's First Week!

Rex is one week old and I can hardley believe we made it through the first week. Talk about being tired but it is all completely worth it!

Labor went well. Saturday night May 14, 2011 at 11:53 PM my water broke. I was beyond excited!! I knew this is it!! We left for the hospital shortly after and began calling friends and family! After the IV was crammed in my arm and the Epidural took place...all was right with the world. At 8:30 I started pushing and at 10:16 Rex was born! 8 lbs 4 oz 20 1/4 inches long! HEALTHY! :)

This is all I have time to update on now! I will try to post more of Rex's first week (actually at home) later. Right now...I'm on Mommy Duty!

38 Week Appointment!

Well today I am 37 Weeks and 6 days (so tomorrow will be 38 weeks). I had my 38 week appointment today and it went really well! The baby's heartbeat was still strong and he is getting more and more ready to make his big debut!

I am dialated 2-3 cm and my cervix is ready for delivery (or close enough). The doctor said it could be any second now, but since babies have a mind of their own sometimes, he wanted to have a plan in place so that I do not go much longer. My next appointment (and final appointment) will be Monday (if I am still pregnant by then). On Monday the doctor will set up a day to induce later that week. So...as of the end of next week (or the weekend) baby Rex will be he for sure. (Hopefully before then, I would love to go naturally without being induced) but he doesn't want me to go much longer and definitely doesn't want me to go to my due date. The baby is so low, he says it could be dangerous for the baby to stay that low for 2 or 3 weeks.

We are so excited! I am just glad that things are progressing and I will not have to go to 40, 41 or 42 weeks; that seems like an eternity!!

So, baby Rex, come on! Mommy and Daddy are ready!

37 Weeks

No baby yet, but bags are packed and we are ready to go!! I hope its sooner rather than later! Another week or so would be fine, but I hope it's not 3 or 4 weeks! I am so ready to meet the little man!

37 Weeks. Baby is the size of a watermelon. He weighs over 7 lbs. :)

Here is a new baby gift we got in the mail yesterday! Thank you to the Giffin's for Rex's wonderful new swing! It's automatic, has 6 different settings, plays music, etc.! It does just about everything you could imagine! We love it!! We tried to pick gender neutral colors just in case next time around we have a little girl. Big pieces like this are pricey and babies out grow them soon, might as well get more use out of them next time around as well! :) I LOVE IT! (By the way though, not very easy to put together!)

Yeah, I'm super mom!! :) I was quite proud of myself for putting this together.

I have been off work all week (the doctor felt it was best if at this point I stopped working). I have enjoyed resting and am feeling much better than I was a few weeks ago. I strongly recommend resting at the end of the pregnancy, it gives you a whole different outlook on making it through! :)

On April 2, 2011 I had a wonderful baby shower here at my house, put on by my mom and sister in law! I had so much fun and was so thrilled to have all of my friends and family in one place to celebrate!

Randy and I are just about ready for baby Rex's arrival! We can't wait! Below are finished pictures of the nursery, and a few miscellaneous pictures of us getting ready for baby's big day! :)

Over Spring Break, I went to see my brother and sister-in-law in Lewisville! We had a blast! We did a little shopping and eating! :) My two favorite things! Randy was in Chicago, so I took my mom along for the ride! We had a great time! Shelley's sister Natalie is pregnant as well (due in August). We had fun talking baby talk and shopping for maternity clothes!

Well there is a long update on the past few months! Probably more than you cared to know! :) Today I had my 37 week check up at the doctor and everything went great! He says baby Rex can come at any time and would be perfectly healthy! I cannot wait!! Next week they will examine me and see how things are progressing towards delivery! Hopefully I make it that long. :) If I don't, that is fine too! I am ready when he is!! Stay tuned!
